It’s about 15 km (9 miles) from the famous Cortina d'Ampezzo resort town — a short and scenic drive away.


How to Get to Lake Misurina


- By Car: From Cortina d’Ampezzo, it takes about 30 minutes via SR48 road. Parking is available around the lake; hourly parking fees usually range from $1.50–$3.00 USD.


- By Bus: In summer (June–September), buses run frequently between Cortina and Misurina. A one-way ticket costs around $5 USD.


- Nearest Airports: Venice Marco Polo Airport (about 150 km) and Treviso Airport. From there, rental cars or trains to Calalzo di Cadore plus buses are good options.


Is There an Entrance Fee?


Good news, Lykkers! Visiting Lake Misurina is completely free. Walking around the lake, relaxing by the shore, and enjoying the breathtaking views won’t cost us a penny. However, if we decide to explore nearby hiking trails or rent pedal boats, prices start at around $10–$15 USD per hour.


Best Time to Visit


- Summer (June–September): Perfect for hiking, boat rides, and sunny lakeside picnics. Daytime temperatures are a comfortable 15–22°C (59–72°F).


- Winter (December–March): A magical snowy wonderland, ideal for snowshoeing or simply admiring frozen beauty. Temperatures can dip below -5°C (23°F), so bundle up!


Top Tip: July and August are the busiest months. For a quieter experience, consider visiting in late June or early September.
