Hey Lykkers! Have you ever imagined standing in awe, surrounded by the roar of cascading water and the serenity of nature?

We recently had the chance to visit one of the most stunning waterfalls in Southeast Asia—Ban Gioc–Detian Falls—and it was an experience that we'll never forget! Get ready, because we're about to share all the magic this natural wonder has to offer!

Ban Gioc–Detian Falls, located on the border between Vietnam and China, is not just any waterfall. It's the fourth largest transnational waterfall in the world, a breathtaking display of nature's power and beauty. The falls are divided into two main parts: the upper falls and the lower falls, both offering mesmerizing views as they tumble over the lush landscape. What's even more incredible is that the waterfall is set in the Northeast region of Vietnam, surrounded by green forests, rice paddies, and towering limestone mountains—truly a picture-perfect destination!

The Majestic Waterfalls and Scenic Surroundings

The star of the show, of course, is the waterfall itself. Standing at the base of Ban Gioc–Detian Falls, we were struck by its sheer size and natural beauty. The roar of the water crashing down into the river below was so loud, it felt like the earth itself was speaking to us. The upper falls, where the water cascades down in a beautiful fan-shaped pattern, is a photographer's dream. The lower falls, surrounded by mist and lush greenery, adds to the charm, offering visitors a unique chance to get up close and personal with the roaring water.

If you're a fan of scenic boat rides, then this is the place to be! We had the chance to take a boat ride along the Quay Son River, which flows right by the falls. The boat ride took us up to the base of the falls, allowing us to feel the mist on our faces and truly appreciate the vastness of the waterfall from a different perspective. The boats are available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and a ticket costs around 50,000 VND (roughly 2 USD), which is a small price to pay for such an unforgettable experience.

Visiting the Ban Gioc–Detian Falls: Practical Information

We want to make sure that your visit to Ban Gioc–Detian Falls is as smooth as possible, so here's some important information to help you plan your trip. First off, the falls are located in CaoBang Province, in the far northern region of Vietnam. While the roads can be a bit bumpy, the scenic drive through the countryside is well worth it. If you're traveling from Hanoi, it takes about 6 to 8 hours by car.
