Cat, is an animal that is both independent and close to others. It is deeply loved by people so many people treat it as a pet. It is like a friend who can always be with us at all times so that we are no longer alone.

We love cats, but how much do we really know about cats? We have always thought that cats are animals with excellent visual, smell, taste, tactile, and hearing, but they are not actually the case.

Cat's vision

The human vision range is about 210 degrees, while the cat's field of vision can reach 280 degrees. In other words, a cat's eyes are precise detection radars, and even the prey cats located behind it can be clearly seen.

And at night, its vision is not affected, because it only needs even one-sixth of the light intensity of human beings to see the surrounding situation. In short, cats can see the surroundings with only a little weak light.

Cat's sense of smell

Although the cat's sense of smell is not as good as the dog, it is also four times that of humans. They can identify the smells of various aspects such as partners, marking territory, and confirmation of food, and they can also perceive the temperature.

The sense of smell is the main channel for them to obtain external information. It can be said that the sense of smell is the most important part of them.

The cat's sense of taste

Cats don't really have a keen sense of taste. They are less sensitive to food than humans. They have little sense of sweetness in particular but react strongly to sour tastes.

They tend to think of sourness as the smell of rotting meat. Although cats do not have a keen sense of taste, there is a special feature on their tongue, which is full of thorns. The spines help him groom his hair, pick out food, and drink water.

Cat's tactile

Its front paws are often used to feel the nature, size, shape, and distance of unfamiliarity of objects. People can often see cats stretching out a foot, patting the object gently, then tightly pressing it, and finally using its nose to stick an object to the smell inspection.

Beard is the most sensitive organ in cats' tactile organs. As long as the beard encounters an object, there is a response. In the dark, the beard has a radar effect. Beard can quickly feel what the cat's eyes see, and can immediately take action to avoid or hunt the objects that feel.

Many scientists believe that the cat's beard is perceived with changes in the slight pressure in the air to perceive other objects. If we cut off the cat's beard, this will prevent the cat's hunting ability, especially in the dark night.

Cat's hearing

Normal people can hear a sound range of 20 to 2 million Hz, dogs are 20-5 million Hz, and cats are 60 to 6.5 million Hz. Therefore, the range that cats can hear is about three times that of humans, so when humans have not heard any sound, the cat has heard it first. Cats can even hear the footsteps of prey outside 20 meters!

Cat's ears have 20 more muscles than humans. When they hear the sound, they will turn triangular ears to capture the source of the sound, so that they can hear more clearly.

Based on animal instincts, cats' hearing is better than humans. This is not a rare thing. But relatively speaking, cats are more likely to be stimulated by sound. It will be more sensitive to sounds such as hair dryers, thunder, or firecrackers, and easily frightened. It is extremely uncomfortable for them.
