Football is one of the most popular sports. In the game of football, the rules are called the law of the game. The soccer rules, in detail, consist of dozens of things that can and cannot be done during a match.

Although the game looks simple, but in an official event, there are some soccer rules that must be obeyed.

• Substitute player

Regarding the reserve players, the number depends on the competition that is followed.

• Old Game Rules

The normal length of a soccer game is usually 2 x 45 minutes. The duration of the break is 10 minutes between the two halves. If the scores of both teams are still tied, there will be a 2x15 minute extra time. If during the additional duration the game score is still the same, the referee will hold a penalty shootout between the two teams until one of the teams scores more goals.

• Kickoff

The football match begins with a kickoff via the designated team. This kickoff rule is taken alternately in the first half and second half. Kickoff is done twice, namely when starting the first half and the second half.

• Referee

The referee is the person who makes all the decisions in the game of football. He is often referred to as the 'field judge'. The referee has the right to determine goals, violations, to stop the match. And when carrying out his duties, he was assisted by 3 assistant referees.

• Number of players

Football is played by two teams in one game. Each team consists of 11 players and one of them must act as a goalkeeper. The number of players can be reduced if a player is shown a red card and is not allowed to continue the game. One team can still continue the game if the number of players is at least 7 people. If the number of players is below 7 people, then the match cannot be continued. Substitutions can be made 3-7 times, depending on the competition rules.

• Time

The next rule of the game of soccer is a matter of time. Each half has 45 minutes, so the total in one game is 90 minutes. And the break time is usually no more than 15 minutes from half one to half.

If within 90 minutes the match is balanced and the match requires a winner, there will be extra time or extra time with the duration of each half being 15 minutes.

• Rules for Violations

Violations will occur if there is a hands ball, pushing the opponent, pulling the opponent's shirt, a tackle that is too hard, interfering with the movement of the goalkeeper and others. The referee has 2 cards, namely a yellow card and a red card.

If you get a yellow card, the first one gets a strong warning, and if you get 2 yellow cards, you will automatically get a red card. Meanwhile, if a player gets a red card then the player will automatically be removed from the field.

• Penalty Kick

A penalty kick is taken when an opposing player commits a foul in his own penalty area. A kicker will shoot a ball placed at the penalty spot towards a goal that is only guarded by the opposing goalkeeper. During the penalty kick process, the other players must be outside the penalty box. When a penalty kick has been taken and a goal is scored, the game returns to normal. However, if the penalty kick does not go in, and is still in the playing area, both teams are allowed to take the ball and continue the game.

Those are some rules you need to know. Hope it is useful!
